Assigning Workspace Profiles to Folders and Documents

An AutoCAD profile can be imported into ProjectWise and linked to a ProjectWise workspace profile (created in ProjectWise Administrator). When a user opens a DWG document that is associated to that workspace profile, the settings in the linked AutoCAD profile will also be loaded in AutoCAD, regardless of which user opens the document.

When you assign a workspace profile to a folder, all documents in that folder automatically inherit the folder's workspace profile. You can leave a document's inherited workspace profile as is, or you can override it by opening the document's Properties dialog and changing the workspace profile on the WorkSpace tab.

Assign a workspace profile to a folder (Folder Properties dialog)

  1. Select a folder and select Folder > Properties.
  2. On the WorkSpace tab of the Folder Properties dialog:
    1. Set WorkSpace type to WorkSpace Profile.
    2. Select an option from the WorkSpace Profile list.

You can select a specific workspace profile to assign, or select <none> (Inherit) if you want the folder to inherit its workspace profile from its parent folder, or select <none> (Don't inherit) if you do not want the folder to have any workspace profile assigned.

  3. Click OK.

Assign a workspace profile to a document (Document Properties dialog)

  1. Select a document and select Document > Properties.
  2. On the WorkSpace tab of the Document Properties dialog:
    1. Set WorkSpace type to WorkSpace Profile.
    2. Select an option from the WorkSpace Profile list.

You can select a specific workspace profile to assign, or select <none> (Inherit) if you want the document to inherit its workspace profile from its parent folder, or select <none> (Don't inherit) if you do not want the document to have any workspace profile assigned.

If the document currently inherits a workspace profile from its parent folder, the inherited workspace profile name appears in the WorkSpace Profile list, with the parent folder name in parentheses.

  3. Click OK.

Assign a workspace profile to one or more documents (Modify Document(s) dialog)

  1. Select one or more documents and select Document > Modify.
  2. In the Modify Document(s) dialog, select an option from the WorkSpace Profile list.

You can select a specific workspace profile to assign to all of the selected documents, or select <none> if you do not want the selected documents to have any workspace profile assigned.

  3. Click OK.
